We are always recruiting Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioners, Plaster Technicians, Orthopaedic Technicians and Orthopaedic Practitioners to work within the field of Trauma & Orthopaedic Outpatients, Accident & Emergency Departments and Operating Theatres within the UK's NHS and Private hospitals.
We accept candidates who can work on-going and full or part time permanent NHS staff who wish to work their off duty or annual leave.
You should be competent to remove and apply casts to patients at the doctor's request, following an accident, for elective Orthopaedic conditions and or following surgery.
You will be expected to be able to work with a variety of casting materials. As well as Plaster of Paris, you will be expected to use a wide range of resin coated materials, fibreglass, polypropylene and polyester substrates.
Primarily we recruit qualified technicians or nurses who hold the British Casting Certificate (BCC). This certificate is recognised by the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA); the Society of Orthopaedic and Trauma Nursing (SOTN); Royal College of Nursing (RCN); Orthopaedic & Trauma Alliance UK (OTA); and the Association of Orthopaedic Practitioners - UK (AOPUK).
